This workshop stands alone as a strategic alignment tool, but it connects seamlessly with our existing strategy frameworks. It is shaped by risk and opportunity, and gaps that preexist or that have emerged as a result of a significant shift in North Star. North Star is also the precursor methodology for our Agile Re-Missioning (ARM) methodology. Both RIOS and ARM start with North Star anytime there is a necessity for mission calibration or completely new missions, ensuring your organization is positioned to move forward in a unified direction.

Every North Star engagement follows similar core steps, and the timeline is adjusted based on organizational complexity and the depth of analysis required. A typical effort includes a few days of prep, one or more focused workshop sessions, and one to two days for analysis and report development. Some clients require more customization or deeper review cycles, while others move faster.

Step 1: The Survey | Honest Inputs for a clear starting point
Before we bring the team into a room, we start by gathering confidential, individual perspectives through a 20‑minute asynchronous survey.
Step 2: The In-Person Workshop | Turning Data into Direction
Once the survey is analyzed, we bring the team together for a half‑day, in‑person workshop to reflect on the survey results, reveal where perspectives align or differ, and confirm the most promising strategic options to explore. From there, we guide the group through a structured look at each potential path, clarifying your current realities, defining what success could look like, and identifying the friction that might stand in the way. This shared understanding sets the foundation for informed, confident decision‑making as we move forward.
Step 3: The End State | Clarity You Can Act On
At the end of the process, we bring all the strategic analysis together into clear, side‑by‑side comparisons that outline what each viable path truly requires. Your team gets a brief window to refine anything that may have been missed, followed by a short session dedicated to one thing: making the call. The result is an honest understanding of each option, a shared language for discussing strategy, and alignment around the best, most informed choice.
